Video Project

Proposal

ideas your working with

I am playing with the idea, that the human eye is part of the human body that is as valuable for communication and interaction as speech. It is also conducting a experiment as to what people tend to look at during interaction and comparing them with eight other eyes .

Equipment

Sony Z1U HD camera
Tripod
Lighting kit
Video of a taped interaction sequence
Editing software

Help

People who have agreed to be apart of the project.

Describe what your planning on doing

I am video taping close ups of 9 subjects eye and subjecting them to an controlled interaction. I will then edit them to be side by side all on the same screen and playing synchronized.

starting points

My starting points will be choosing what interaction my subjects will be subjected to.
Then finding 9 subjects to take part in my art project.
Next video tape them.
Lastly editing

overview of ideas

I have chosen to make the eyes the central focus of this project because I believe is the largest insight into who a person is. It describes what they are most interested in and what they are feeling by what they look at. I chose nine eyes because I feel that is enough subjects to get a variety of people so the results are not just a coincidence and it is a number that can equally fit on to a screen by going 3 by 3.

what i am trying to achieve

I am trying to achieve a piece of art that not only is interesting to watch but also brings insight into human interaction and allows the viewer to see how similar or different human nature actually is.

inspiration

I was inspired by the idea and interest of the nature of people and how they interact with their eyes. This includes how they respond and interact with people. A presentation in class was also inspiring. When the presenter was talking about art and how it can be an experiment.
